Fight, man!

Too much of the English-speaking markets familiar with the famous professional wrestler known as Hulk Hogan this figure probably made you think of his likeness. Not knowing his actual identity set in origins from an expansive story universe produced in Japan called Kinnikuman, it would have been a common assigned identity. However, if Mattel hadn’t dropped the characters original identities created by a pair of Japanese artists known collectively as Yudetamago than you’d know Kenkaman as this form.

Acting as one of the hundreds of superhuman wrestling themed characters among the enormous roster populating the tournaments and conflicts in the story arcs. This character comes with a rather generic naming as “Kenkaman” roughly translates to “Fight Man” or “Brawler Man” as it were. With many of the accompanying background characters having similar lack of depth in their story line he still adds a great street brawling inspired aesthetic.

Lower tier amongst the supporting antagonist characters he’s often a visual accoutrement eager to start fights and lacking strategy or discipline. With common street fighting and forward aggression-based techniques to represent a common thug representation as a quick obstacle for the more notable and technically skilled combatants to progress.

M.U.S.C.L.E. #126 Kenkaman

Sporting the common wrestler physique and garb he was easily found in the imaginative combat scenarios of fans in all time zones. Allowing his lack of an identity as an opportunity for his playtime puppeteers to create him into any story line they wanted. Then learning later about the rich variety of details in the original manga and anime which is still produced in Japan by the same original creators who remain immensely popular over 40 years later.
