Computer bruiser
One of the most delightfully oddball characters reflecting the creator’s talent and love for turning elements of any origin into pop culture mashup personas Personal Man is often another fan favorite. When he was introduced to the Western markets in the rebranded M.U.S.C.L.E. toy line from Mattel, most of the new consumers would have no idea about his identity origins in the enormous Kinnikuman universe still popular and produced in Japan today.
His figure fit in perfectly with the rising computing culture of the time with a distinctive body formed from familiar computer hardware and peripherals that brought everyday things to life in the imaginations of fans worldwide. With signature moves like the Dazzling Hacker Clutch he still remained a minor protagonist character in the original manga and anime series.
While not a central character his interesting form helped fill in the broader roster of the eccentric and obscure fighters appearing in tournaments varied story arcs contributing to the chaotic and often comedic tone. Fans of the Japanese keshi figures the Mattel line is based on were made of a different material and color variants, but the keshi series includes hundreds more of these background character types.
This didn’t stop the young new enthusiasts in the North American markets from creating their own identities for the form often theming him around calculated attacks and imaginative battle scenarios. With the same pair of friends still producing the popular world of Kinnikuman from Japan to this day.
