Molten mayhem
Be-fitting any imaginations identity given to this spiked helmet wearing space monster themed figure. Black Rain is another great character design that lost their name in the Mattel import series rebranded as M.U.S.C.L.E. for the primarily English-speaking market. Leaving fans to only find out later about the origins in the Kinnikuman universe created by a pair of talented friends from Japan who go by the name Yudetamago.
Introduced in the classic Japanese style manga as a relatively lower role antagonist with an unusual liquid-metal kind of form and unique combat abilities. Appearing as a kind of molten metal liquid (yet solid) form in a masked and combat ready armor. An original monster-themed creation inspired by popular sci-fi designs that added an element of memorable persona.
The villainous figure is a dangerous obstacle among the Devil Chojin opposing the protagonist Justice Chojin faction. With a limited number of appearances in the series, he helps showcase the enormous creativity in the roster of hundreds of wrestling based characters.
The fluid form of Black Rain probably didn’t come as a first impression of the memorable character for the fans who originally only knew the Mattel line of toys. However, later learning his supernatural meets industrial composition of molten form made him all the more interesting.
Just as his name might suggest his signature attack involves showering opponents with attack droplets of his molten form. With body transformation and hardening abilities that strengthen attacks and defensive moves.
He may not have been a re-occurring character in the original franchise but likely a common contender in the living rooms and backyards for fans of the figure. With his spiked helmet making a great weapon for poking opponents (or siblings) in the heat of battle. Making him a champion to many even still today.
