Pig prince imposter
The quirky and memorable figure of King Ton didn’t get his story carried into the American markets when Mattel introduced the selective characters from the original Japanese Kinnikuman toy line. However his multiple varied pose figures quickly became favorites to many regardless of his lost identity that English Speaking fans didn’t likely know of until many years later.
Of his presented forms in the M.U.S.C.L.E. line this is the first appearance for his character created by the duo Yudetamago originally. Best known as comic sized imposter who briefly ruled Planet Kinniku, the home planet of Kinnikuman himself. His story begins with an absurd mix-up where a pig named Ikue sneaks aboard a royal Kinniku family spaceship traveling to Earth.
During a moment of chaos the king and queeen accidently throw their own son Prince Suguru aka Kinnikuman out of the ship instead of the pig who is then mistakenly raised as their royal heir on Planet Kinniku by the monarchs. Living a spoiled life for years and attending the elite Hercules Factory wrestling school where Chojin train.
However, when Kinnikuman is rediscovered and returns to challenge his claim to his birthright the two mighty characters battle in a series of fights. King Tons is inevitably defeated but not without exposing how formidable this once lowly pig had become under the training of the Kinniku warriors.
His original owner, a butcher, finds him and makes chase forcing King Ton to leave and effectively relinquish any control back to the rightful heir of Planet Kinniku. Because the role of his presence in the series is brief and humorous he doesn’t accumulate trademark techniques or grand story line inclusion. Though his unusual creature appearance made him an instant hit in the memories of fans around the world.
King Ton’s personality and fighting approach are a blend of absurdity and surprising capability. While his presence is initially comedic—after all, he’s literally a pig ruling a planet—he displays superhuman strength and solid martial training, a joke turned reality thanks to his upbringing at Hercules Factory.
