Oh Canada!
True to his namesake and dawning the maple leaf of the country from which he hails, most in the North American markets he was introduced to in the M.U.S.C.L.E. series may not have known his origins or actual name. A minor but memorable character Canadian Man represents the country of Canada in the international roster of wrestlers within the Kinnikuman universe.

Embodying the classic stereotypes applied to many figures by the creative duo Yudetamago in the original manga from Japan. This character debuts in the early story arcs around the Olympic storyline where international wrestlers gather to compete on the world stage.
A colorful challenger rather than a long-term rival in recurring roles he’s portrayed with the maple leaf motif and a lumberjack inspired form. Blending action, parody, and over the top wrestling drama he demonstrates some of the unbound imagination brought by the Kinnikuman series even still today.

While not known as an overly powerful or pivotal character Canadianman does have some signature moves. He’s known for including the lumberjack themed attacks, the Canadian Backbreaker, and the Maple Leaf Hold as a submission style maneuver playing on Canada’s national symbol.
