A real scrapper

Iconic to the M.U.S.C.L.E. series for a couple of different figures with the likeness, this menacing character imported from Japan is another great example of the creativity of Yudetamago and the Kinnikuman universe. A member of the villainous Devil Chojin faction, Junk Man plays some more significant roles in the story line most English-speaking fans wouldn’t come to know for many years later.

Introduced in the popular Seven Devil Chojin arc this contender themed on industrial scrap and heavy crushing machinery does exactly what you likely think he might. With the massive, spiked smashing plates for appendages any imagination could lend an image of complete brutality.

A true antagonist character however, like many Kinnikuman characters do, displays moments of depth and emotional weight to battles. While at the same time providing the exaggerated humorous persona one would come to expect in the series while the superhuman wrestling cast find their way into various new stories.

His figures in the hands of ’80s kids likely had many other names since when the line was rebranded by Mattel for the new markets it was lost across the ocean. Though he did some entertaining signature techniques such as Spike Hammer Strikes, the Junk Press, and of course the Junk Crash clamping his opponents between his crushing force and doing what he does best. Either way, there’s still many fans of his figure still today around the globe.
