The Meat!
Adorable in presence and a favorite of many whether they knew his original name before imported to the North American markets by Mattel rebranded in the M.U.S.C.L.E. figure series. This little guy created by the Japanese wrestling manga powerhouse duo Yudetamago is a small and intelligent ally to Kinnikuman known simply as Meat, or Mito untranslated phonetically.
Playing an important role in the Kinnikuman universe throughout the series as a strategist, commentator, and emotional support for the protagonist heroes. He’s a walking plethora of knowledge in wrestling techniques and fighting strategies in a cute small package that fans of the series came to love.
Being that his size and strength isn’t ideal for a combatant, his character takes more of a support role contributing his intelligence and loyalty as a valued member of the team. Small body, huge heart, and loyal to a fault, Meat provides comedic moments and entertaining dramatic reactions to the intense and often bizarre battles that occur.
Mito’s major strengths are his agility, strategy, and can grapple when he needs to. However, in the ring himself and instead analyzes opponents and encourages the heroes from the side. Sometimes at the risk of his own safety, just the type of great little fella you might expect him to be before even knowing his story.
These qualities and his unique couple of figures representing him in the M.U.S.C.L.E. series make him one of the most popular amongst collectors. With his identity displayed across his shirt in Niku meaning Meat and a persona in form that’s easily recognized and enjoyed.
