Appearing multiple times in different forms in the Mattel M.U.S.C.L.E. series, his first figure in the line is #1 branded for the English-Speaking markets as his translated name Muscle Man. However, his origins in Japan as the lead protagonist character of the popular Kinnikuman series for which he shares his name.

As the central hero of the entertaining wrestling manga produced by the creative duo Yudetamago he’s initially portrayed as a clumsy and comedic superhero. Who eventually evolves into one of the strongest and most noble characters of the franchise and the defender of his him planet Kinniku and Earth.

While early on in the story arcs Kinnikumanis a cowardly, bumbling character but with determination and kindness. This sense of innocent justice grows him into a true champion and general embodiment of the wrestling universe.

His true identity isn’t revealed until he’s found to be the lost prince of the Kinniku royal line where our beloved hero is then faced with the obstacles of proving his strength and character through numerous battles to claim is rightful place. Despite his royal lineage he remains humble, and compassionate to others allowing his character to form strong friendships along his way.

In this figure form we find him in a generic wrestling stance dawning one of his trademark facial expressions and conveying natural brutish presence. Collectors have given the figure his own various names over time, a testament to the imagination made possible by his original creators in Japan.
