Fancy knight
The character’s likeness appears multiple times in the Mattel M.U.S.C.L.E. series imported for the North American markets in the 1980s, but this one in particular is unique his form. As one of the most important heroes of the original wrestling manga of Japan created by Yudetamago, Robin Mask is a noble Chojin known for knight’s armor and strong sense of honor.

Throughout the Kinnikuman story arcs this English warrior appears as a powerful combatant and mentor figure to less experienced fighters including the cyborg Warsman. At one point in the story lines our hero is though dead from plane crash with Kinnikuman only to have snuck to Russia to recover under the pseudonym Mr. Barracuda to train the digital automaton.
Portraying as an aristocratic warrior conveying strength and honor he appears early in the series as a rival and later one of the closest allies to the primary protagonist Kinnikuman himself. He carries signature techniques in his arsenal of combat skills including the Robin Tackle, Robin Special, and his trademark Tower Bridge finishing move breaking the backs of opponents across his knee.

To many fans of the imported toy line based on the original Japanese Keshi series his name wouldn’t have been known after losing the branding in the conversion. However, this figure was often affectionately known by names from the imaginations of many like Fancy Knight, or something similar as his wardrobe is out of trend with his other figures forms. Either way, he’s a veteran of battles in the nostalgia to fans around the globe.
