Island stone god
Inspired by the famous stone heads of Easter Island (Moai) as huge and heavy as you might imagine, Moai Man became a favorite of many as an imposing hulk of a character in their imaginations. However, his original story was created in Japan before he ever made it to the English-speaking markets in the Mattel M.U.S.C.L.E. figure series.

Created by the manga duo Yudetamago as part of their ever imaginative Kinnikuman universe the character blends ancient imagery and their trademark over exaggerated wrestling forms. Although not a major hero or recurring central character, his distinctive design won the figure its fandom as part of the hundreds of interesting combatants from the franchise.
Representing as an ancient cultural guardian brought to life to compete as a superhuman wrestler showcasing incredible durability and strength. A difficult opponent standing as an obstacle that’s tough to damage as a massive stone frame.

The combat techniques of the character emphasize his obvious weight and immovable defense as a giant stone tribute to the island gods. Though Moai Man does feature some entertaining techniques including the Ancient Idol Drop, Stone Guardian Press, and the Moai Head Smash where he delivers a staggering headbutt to his opponent. All likely used without knowing their names in the wrestling rings and imagination moments in the memories of the era.
