There’s hundreds of characters in the Kinnikuman universe, as the original creator duo Yudetamago lent their imaginations to producing an entire manga long before Mattel imported the figure likeness to the English-speaking markets. Using a different material but still based on the Japanese keshi lines the silhouette of Copper Bellman often stood out among the many strange wrestling creatures that became M.U.S.C.L.E. toys.

Presenting around the visual theme as his name implies this unusual Chojin competitor has appeared in some of the large tournament and battles that are the Kinnikuman world. Typically appearing during multi-fighter competitions as a secondary character the skinny challenger isn’t a central antagonist. Instead, he adds another example of imaginative approach to character creation that Yudetamago was known for.

The symbol on his chest represents “Cu” in Japanese as the chemical symbol for the metal copper. Using the benefit of his bell based design his fighting techniques revolve around comedic crushing and impacts that make the sounds you might expect considering the obvious. Some fan material does come from his techniques though including the Rolling Bell Attack, the Bell Press, and the Clanging Body Slam. Which also, is self-explanatory by name alone.

To the consumers of the Western markets though his name and story didn’t follow his figure when introduced via the M.U.S.C.L.E. toy series. Imaginations of the day likely gave him any number of other unique identities that helped create amazing nostalgia memories of the era that carry easily into the next.
