A rather discreet and minimally exaggerated wrestling figure that often served the same role in the imaginative battles of English-speaking consumers who never knew his name and the original Japanese fan base. Part of the expansive secondary characters in the Kinnikuman universe, Armstrong is background role thought up by the artistic power duo Yudetamago long before the figure was introduced in the Mattel M.U.S.C.L.E. import series.

Like many of the numerous background Chojin participating in the varied tournaments and battles at the height of the 1980s popularity. The character represents another variety amongst the roster of hundreds of superhuman wrestlers appearing along the story arcs. Showcasing the franchise tradition in showcasing a visually entertaining spectrum of competitors in varied personas.

Armstrong’s name implies his depiction as a powerful and heavily built Chojin combatant with an imposing anonymous mask. The characters of the Kinnikuman universe at times originated through reader submissions to the creators. With this character belonging to the broad pool of lesser known fighters adding to the overall competitive scene.

M.U.S.C.L.E. #88 Armstrong
