A galactic terror

Among the extraterrestrial creatures of the Kinnikuman galaxy the Wakusei Barukan (literally translates to “Planet Vulcan“) represents an example of the fondness and space-inspired imaginations of the original creators Yudetamago of Japan. Drawing from mythology and pop culture parodies this cosmic fantasy character fits right in the creative world that is the tradition in the storylines.

Wakusei Barukan is depicted as an alien Chōjin, typically featuring a rugged, otherworldly appearance that suggests a being forged in extreme planetary conditions. His design incorporates exaggerated musculature and alien facial features, blending traditional pro-wrestling physiques with sci-fi aesthetics.

Like many secondary Chōjin in the series, Wakusei Barukan did not occupy a pivotal role but contributed to the expansive tournament lineups that made Kinnikuman famous. The frequent use of planetary and cosmic motifs reinforced its blend of superhero parody and intergalactic spectacle.

M.U.S.C.L.E. #9 Wakusei Barukan

Today, Wakusei Barukan’s M.U.S.C.L.E. figure remains a nostalgic artifact of 1980s toy culture. For collectors, he represents both the sci-fi creativity of Kinnikuman and the global journey of Japanese pop culture properties into Western markets.

Though not among the franchise’s headline heroes, Wakusei Barukan’s inclusion in the M.U.S.C.L.E. creature’s roster has long been a welcome addition by fans of all ages.
