Grinning minion
An obscure yet memorable little gremlin looking figure that was easily placed as a villain in the storylines of the imaginations of fans around the world whether they knew his origins in the Kinnikuman universe or not. The fans introduced by way of the M.U.S.C.L.E. toy line though wouldn’t find out the identities of the Buka trio (A, B, and form C, the word “Buka” in Japanese roughly translates to subordinate, or basically a minion).
While none of the Buka characters are major re-appearing characters in the story arcs created by the same pair of creative friends in Japan who go by the collective name Yudetamago still produce today. However, his menacing look and overall appearance gained the characters lasting recognition thanks to their appearances in the original Japanese keshi figures, and the later export versions for the Mattel toy series.
The Buka’s serve under the antagonist leader Octopus Dragon III within the Space Underground Wrestling Federation as secondary background combatants in the tournament or conflicts. Acting essentially as disposable henchman rather than taking any depth to their character roles, adding to the enormous roster of interesting characters of the manga and anime.
His tactics revolve around swarm fighting alongside his name sharing fellow henchman utilizing basic grappling and wrestling techniques rather than any overly entertaining or powerful signature moves. Often adding a gimmicky comedic wrestling display that entertained but not effective enough in their aggressions to make real impact in a fight with usually stronger contenders.
Buka C is another example of all the secondary background characters from the Japanese series that gained new recognition by way of the ignorant western new market. Who likely wouldn’t know his identity or origins until much later, but welcomed the characters unique likeness into their nostalgic memories of epic battles none the less.
