Appearing in multiple forms among the Millions of Unusual Small Creatures Lurking Everywhere (M.U.S.C.L.E.) series is one of the primary characters in the storylines originally from the Japanese manga Kinnikuman universe. In this form Terryman appears more like a child than the Texas born wrestling sensation he’s normally depicted by in his likeness.
Themed with inspiration from a real-life wrestling superstar popular in the era named Terry Funk his fighting style revolves around American classic wrestling styles. In his character form among the hundreds of unique personas in the Kinnikuman manga and anime franchise though, he’s a best friend to the primary protagonist the franchise is named for. With an evolution over the series lines as a hard-hitting brawler with courage and loyalty to his fellow Justice Chojin teammates.
With his fundamental character design around the wrestling legend who shares his Texan roots and common motif of a rugged muscular cowboy looking to wrestle. Though it’s not known why this particular figure’s form takes on a more cutesy and child-like stature.
Still serving as a tribute by the genuine vintage wrestling fans that still create the ever-popular Kinnikuman story arcs today. A pair of longtime friends from Japan who share the moniker of Yudetamago. To which their creativity and imaginations created a fan base around the world.
His character in the story arcs makes him one of the founding members of the protagonist group known as the Justice Chojin where he’s featured as a recurring presence across various story lines. Including his more defining moments such as refusing to surrender to Buffalo Man despite incredible injuries making his sheer determination a trademark trait.
As for signature techniques in the ring his combination of classic wrestling prowess and cowboy-inspired moves make for an entertaining spectacle. Moves like the Texas Clover Hold, or his classic finisher the Calf Branding where he drives his opponents into the mat with ridiculous force. His forehead bearing the kanji symbol for “Rice” as a slang moniker for American.
Unlike the other superhuman wrestlers in the enormous roster of Kinnikuman. He presents a more typical human capable of victory through common positive character traits like determination and plain toughness.
