Mixing it up
Going by many different names to fans introduced to his character via the M.U.S.C.L.E. toy series his actual identity begins in the Throne Succession Arc of the ever popular Kinnikuman universe. An expansive manga and anime franchise created by two long time friends in Japan who collectively go by the moniker Yudetamago. While Mattel opted to rebrand the characters into more anonymous creatures, Mixer Taitei is an industrial concreate mixer brought to life in the imaginative form his creators are celebrated for.
With the title of “Taitei” translating to “Emperor” this transformed everyday machine is a formidable Chojin combatant. With his figure form displaying his single-faced form in this version and his slicing and dicing internal spinning blades visible on his torso. He appears as a dangerous blender or milkshake to many and his single masked face with ominous stature just add to the figures form.
Mixer Emporer is a member of Team Mariposa in the battle for the throne of Planet Kinniku competing in a featured tournament match against a primary character, Terryman. His immense strength and unique fighting abilities are aided by his teammate Mr. VTR with recorded battle footage used to strengthen his already formidable fighting style.
Our interesting secondary character is ultimately defeated but not before leaving an impression on fans and their imaginations for years to come. Mixing brute force with creative character design is an entertaining trend in the enormous roster of superhuman wrestling themed creatures found in Kinnikuman story lines. However, this mix brings a whole new silly concept to the idea of it.
Mixer Taitei of course has some trademark moves that might have played into the imaginary battles of fans in their own arenas. With attacks utilizing his rotating drum body like the Concrete Mixer Spin, or his Mixer Hell trapping contenders inside his body to crush and disorient them in combat.
A robo machinery motif inspired by heavy machinery of the time that gave the roster another memorable figure. With crushing attacks and standout appearance he’s another one of the hundreds of reasons (and characters) that continues to captivate the fan base, even if not a recurring character.
