Villainous henchman
This menacing henchman amongst the Millions of Unusual Small Creatures Lurking Everywhere is actually an intimidating member of the Black Army from the enormous universe of interesting characters that originated from the Japanese manga franchise known as Kinnikuman. A popular and entertaining series created by two long-time Japanese friends who go by the combined identity of Yudetamago long before he was ever introduced via the M.U.S.C.L.E import toys from Mattel.

An evil background / secondary antagonist role character, Black Bear is commanded by the Black Emporer with an ultimate goal of conquering planet Earth. Large in physique and menacing in appearance this monstrous humanoid form shares the same naming prefix as his other Black Army comrades appearing in the franchise such as Black Buffalo, Black Knight, Black Rain, and others.
Lending from the strength and ferocity associated with bears still found around Japan even today his superhuman strength and durability make him a formidable foe for the protagonist characters in the story arcs. Including an ability to become enormously large and other unique abilities that showcase physical strength and brute force attacks over tact and strategy.

While not appearing in a prominent role throughout his appearances his inclusion in the Great Riot! or Justice Chojin story arcs establishes his presence as an ominous invader made for conquest. A general supporting antagonist lacking in individual storyline he’s ultimately defeated by the powerful character known as Warsman.

Collectors of the exclusively licensed import toy line brought to the English-speaking markets by Mattel in the 1980s know him as a figure often completed sooner rather than later. He may be a less notable figure in the franchise but has gained fandom through nostalgic battles by enthusiasts all over the world for his interesting form.
